Research and monitoring

Ecological and agricultural studies have led to the development of  recommendations for ‘best practice’ management that better achieves  conservation results. A copy of a booklet, Managing Native Grassland. A guide to management for conservation, production and landscape protection by David Eddy is enclosed in this kit. Information about the land use and  vegetation history of a site is also useful in guiding activities. Monitoring clarifies what happens on a site over time and assists in determining whether management achieves the desired results. This in turn helps to refine best practice management.
